Set your live wallpaper
step by step
Every animated wallpaper you download comes as a looping video (MP4 or WebM) plus a 4K still. Follow your device's steps below to bring it to life on your home screen or lock screen.
1. Get the animation onto your phone
- Buy or own the wallpaper, then tap Download.
- When the setup guide appears, tap "Save animation to Photos" — this sends the video straight to your phone's Photos or Gallery app via the share sheet. Choose Save Video (iPhone) or Save to Gallery (Android).
- Don't see that button? Your browser doesn't support the share sheet — download the video file instead, then use your device's Files app to move it to Photos.
- You can also convert any video — including the animation — into a phone-ready loop with the Live Wallpaper Converter.
2. iPhone & iPad
- Open the Live Wallpaper Converter, pick the saved video from your library, and tap Save to Photos. The converter trims it to a loop iOS accepts as a Live Photo.
- Open the Photos app and find the converted clip.
- Tap Share, then choose "Use as Wallpaper" (iOS 17+).
- On the preview screen, tap Add, then choose Lock Screen, Home Screen, or both.
- Keep Live Photo enabled — press and hold the lock screen and it animates.
iOS note: Apple only animates the lock screen. The home screen will show the included 4K still. Older iPhones (SE, and models without Live Photo support) show static wallpapers only.
3. Android
- Save the converted loop to your Gallery from the converter page.
- Long-press an empty spot on your home screen and tap Wallpapers.
- Pick your gallery or wallpapers app, then choose the video clip. On many phones (Samsung, Pixel, OnePlus) you can set it directly.
- Choose Home screen, Lock screen, or both when prompted.
- If your phone's wallpaper picker only shows still images, install a free video wallpaper app from the Play Store, pick the clip from your Gallery, and set it from there.
Android note: live wallpaper support depends on your launcher. Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel, and most major brands support video wallpapers natively; some lightweight launchers do not.
4. Desktop & tablets
- Windows: use the included 4K still as a normal wallpaper, or a free tool like Lively Wallpaper to run the video loop.
- Mac: set the 4K still via System Settings → Wallpaper, or keep the video in a looping player.
- iPad: set the 4K still via Settings → Wallpaper; iPadOS shows static wallpapers only.
Troubleshooting
- "Live Photo" option is greyed out: run the clip through the Live Wallpaper Converter first, then save it to Photos.
- The wallpaper animates once then stops: re-convert with the Live Wallpaper Converter — it produces a seamless loop.
- Video won't upload to the converter: try Chrome or Safari, and keep the clip under 30 seconds.
- Battery life: live wallpapers use a little more power — iOS only animates while the lock screen is visible, and Android launchers pause the video for full-screen apps.
